What is BMR?
BMR is short for Basal Metabolic Rate. Your BMR is the number of calories you would burn if you stay at rest all day, such as lying in bed.
Calories reflect the amount of energy that your body requires to support its most basic, vital functions, such as breathing, blood circulation, and brain functioning.
It excludes the calories you need for your workouts or other activities but our calculator above allows you to adjust your level of activity to then see the calorie intake required to maintain weight.
Once you understand your BMR and the effect of activity levels on calories burned to can adjust your calorie intake to either, lose, gain or aim to maintain weight.
Frame of mind is important. Keeping a healthy balanced diet, attitude and approach all work together for better outcomes.
